PHOENIX, AZ (WSAU) — Four Wisconsin lawmakers are visiting Arizona to tour the audit of the 2020 Arizona election.
Chairwoman of the Wisconsin Assembly Elections Committee, Republican Janel Brandtjen of Menomonee Falls led the group. Brandtjen’s committee helps oversee the review of Wisconsin’s elections.
Others who were invited on the trip included Tomahawk’s Calvin Callahan, Rachael Cabral-Guevera of Appleton, Greenville’s David Murphy, Donna Rozar of Marshfield, and Chuck Wichgers of Muskego.
The trip was reportedly funded in part by the group Voices and Votes, which lists itself as a group to “protect free speech from cancel culture and ensure American voices are heard where it matters most- the ballot box.”
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos did approve the trip
It’s unclear what the lawmakers plan to do with the information gathered during their observance yesterday of the Arizona election audit.
The process has been widely criticized, even by some Republicans who have called the process a “sham” and “con.”
