CEDAR GROVE, Wis. (WHBL) – For the second time in less than a year, there was a train derailment on the Union Pacific rail line. This time, it happened just south of Cedar Grove – a number of full coal cars ran off the tracks just south of the Sheboygan County line.
The interurban trail has been closed off in the area, and a few roads had to be closed for a time until the rest of the train could be moved.
It was last July when over a dozen coal cars jumped the tracks just north of Oostburg – heavy rains caused a bridge to give way – the cause of this derailment near Cedar Grove is still being investigated.
