The state’s 73rd Alice in Dairyland made history this month by being the first Alice to keep the title twice. Julia Nunes recently finished her first year as Alice and is continuing as the 74th Alice in Dairyland. The news of Nunes accepting to hold the title twice in a row came late last year after careful consideration by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.
The conversation of Nunes staying in her position began after realizing that she never really got the full Alice in Dairyland experience since most fairs, festivals, and other events she would typically attend were canceled. Over the past year, she’s written over 100 articles, been a part of more than 232 media interviews, and will continue to do more in her second term.
Nunes will be in the studio on June 16th to talk about her plans for Alice in Dairyland this year and how the first year went.
