MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers have won five straight games after a 3-2 walk-off win over Detroit in 10 innings on Monday afternoon.
Luis Urias drove in Omar Narvaez with the game winner. Narvaez was the “ghost”runner at 2nd base to begin the 10th. Keston Hiura dropped down a bunt that moved him to 3rd base. Urias then hit a 1-2 pitch over the right fielder’s head for the game winner.
Earlier in the game Willy Adames had given Milwaukee a 2-1 lead with a 2-run homer but Detroit quickly tied it as Akil Badoo homered off Trevor Richards.
Corbin Burnes pitched six innings giving up 0ne run on six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk for a no decision. Brad Boxberger picked up the win in relief.
During the game Lorenzo Cain strained his right hamstring running down a flyball. Craig Counsell said it’s expected that Cain will need a stint on the IL. He had already missed 17 games this season with an injured quadriceps.
