9 more cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Tuesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, raising the county total during the pandemic to 13,810 cases. The 86 total test results received since Monday stand in stark contrast to the numbers which, in November last year, sometimes exceeded 900. Likewise, vaccinations have been slowing compared to peak levels reached in early April, when daily doses averaged over 1300 per day. By contrast, only 123 vaccinations were administered since Monday in Sheboygan County according to statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The percentage of fully vaccinated county residents advanced by only one-tenth to 39.9%, and 45,964 persons, 98 more than on Monday, are fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
With 7 recoveries, the active case count in Sheboygan County gained 2 to 83 cases, and hospitalizations dropped by 1, to 3 persons.
The Wisconsin DHS reported 376 new cases of COVID-19 since Monday, raising the running total to 608,959. 8 more deaths due to the disease were logged, and the death toll stands at 6,998. 75 more persons had to check into hospitals for treatment of their symptoms statewide, and the Wisconsin Hospitals Association reported that, after accounting for deaths and discharges, the state’s COVID-19 patient population dropped by 29 to 225 persons, 75 of those in ICU beds. 381 ventilators are in use statewide.
