Gregory Albert Rogers, 66, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday morning, May 22, 2021 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by his children.
Born January 14, 1955 in Oxford, MS, Gregory was a son of the late John Henry and Ernestine Mitchell Rogers. He attended schools in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School in 1974 where he was a star football player and scholarship winner. He continued his education at Northwest Mississippi Junior College, Ittabena College and Ole Miss. On July 22, 1995, he was united in marriage to Barbara J. Bennett at Mapledale Baptist Church in Sheboygan.
Greg worked for the Borden Company (Dairy Farmers of America) in Plymouth, WI, for over 20 years. He was a member and Deacon of Mapledale Baptist Church and at Love Fellowship. He served as a board member of the Sheboygan YMCA where he also worked out and swam. He enjoyed being outdoors and biking. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Greg was a devout Christian who was always in service to others.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Christopher (Ana) Rogers, and Jessica Rogers, all of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Sophia, Isabella and Savannah Rogers, and Jeremiah Green; his brothers and sisters, Charles (Pennye), Thomas (Ingrid), Sandra (William) Francis, Carol (John) Smith, and Ava (Fred) Hilliard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Destiny Jean Rogers, and his brothers and sisters, Johnny, William, Freddie, Virgie Rogers and Linda Hill.
Funeral services for Greg will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at City Church, 2313 N. 31st Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, MS.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the Emergency Medical Technicians , doctors, nurses and staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and Froedtert Hospital for all of their loving care and support. And to all the friends and family who have prayed for Greg over the past week.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Gregโs arrangements.
