MADISON, WI (WHBL) – The top Republicans at the Wisconsin Capitol say they are waiting for Governor Evers to tell them how he will spend the state’s stimulus money. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu yesterday joined the top Republicans on the state’s budget-writing panel in writing a letter to Governor Evers, inviting him to be a part of the budget process.
The lawmakers say they’d like to know how Evers plans to spend Wisconsin’s three-point-two billion dollars in stimulus money, so they know how to spend the state’s money. The governor has made some general promises about spending on small businesses, but has not offered any specifics.
The Republicans say the governor needs to be a part of making the state’s next budget.
