MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — The Department of Natural Resources is looking for their next group of conservation wardens.
Captain Cara Kamke says they’re looking for about 15 new wardens to enforce laws around hunting, fishing, and more.
“As law enforcement officers we do a lot more than just enforcing the laws,” Kamke told WTAQ. “We do the education, the community policing, and the public outreach.”
As such, a law enforcement background isn’t necessary.
“The type of person we’re looking for doesn’t necessarily come from one specific background or prior experience,” said Kamke. “Truly, what we’re looking for are characteristics.”
