Ryan Sorenson, the current Common Council President, is poised to become the next, and youngest-ever, Mayor of Sheboygan. At age 26, Sorenson defeated second-term incumbent Mayor Mike Vandersteen on Tuesday by a vote of 4,417 to 3,113.
In a statement released late Tuesday night, Sorenson expressed his gratitude to those who voted for him, and said that he is “looking forward to working together with all of our residents of the city of Sheboygan to focus on how we can make Sheboygan even better – a community that works for everyone and where all can thrive.”
