
Emery Henry Casper, age 92, joined his wife in the heavenly ballroom on Friday, April 2, 2021. Emery
was born on January 23, 1929 to Frank Casper and Luella Boyer Casper in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He
attended St. John the Baptist Parish Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1948.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953, attaining
the rank of Corporal. He was employed with the Borden Company for 43 years until his retirement in
1992.
In 1954, he met the love of his life, Annabelle Fessler at a Rural Youth dance in Manitowoc. Emery and
Annabelle were married on September 27 th , 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Silver Lake,
Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. They built their dream home on Pony Lane in Plymouth where they
raised their family and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. His loving wife preceded him in death on January
14, 2021.
Emery and Annabelle spent their younger years making magic on the dance floor, having visited nearly
every dance hall in the state of Wisconsin at one time or another. They were members of St. John the
Baptist Catholic Parish in Plymouth where he served in the Ushers Club for 25 years. Emery’s passions
were fishing, electronics and model railroading. Emery was a lifetime member of the National Model
Railroad Association, ran a model railroad in his basement and was a founding member of the Plymouth
Model Railroad Club. He was part of the team that brought The Smithsonian Art Train to Plymouth in
the 1990’s.
Emery is survived by one son, Michael (Lisa) Casper, Plano, Texas, three daughters, Diane (Steve) Barth,
Hales Corners, Peggy Casper, Jacksonville, Florida, and Debra (Michael) Matoska, Sheboygan Falls; four
grandchildren, Kirsten & Madalyn Schmidt, Sheboygan Falls and Samantha and Brynne Barth, Hales
Corners; Four sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Myron) Habermann, Jean Eis, Manitowoc, Billie Duchon, Oregon,
Wisconsin, and Dorothy Casper, Jackson, Mississippi; one brother-in-law; Tony Fessler (Joan), one
Godchild, David Verhage and other nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters; Leora Verhage and Helen Risch, two
brothers; Orville and Harold Casper, three sisters-in-law; Katie Casper, Phyllis Casper, and Rosemary
Lensmire, six brothers-in-law; Willard Verhage, Arnold Risch, Howard Lensmire, Melvin Eshen, Donald
Duchon and Robert Eis; a cherished cousin, Robert Dorschner and a daughter-in-law; Cheryl Casper.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 7, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,
Plymouth; visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 P.M. Masks and
physical distancing required. Mass will be live streamed on the Church’s website,www.sjbplymouth.org/
Parish. Burial to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharon S Richardson Community Hospice.
Military rites will be conducted by the Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 at the gravesite
following the services at church.
