MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More Wisconsin pharmacies will receive coronavirus vaccine this week under the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
The supply sent to pharmacies under the program is above and beyond what the state is allocated from the federal government.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says select Costco, CVS and Hy-Vee pharmacies are receiving doses this week, along with pharmacies in the Good Neighbor and AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation, Health Mart, Medicine Shoppe and Cardinal Health, and Topco networks.
Additionally, some Hometown Pharmacies and Walmart are also expected to receive more doses, allowing them to administer vaccines at more locations.
DHS says beginning this week, 595 pharmacies in Wisconsin will be able to order nearly 95,000 first doses from the federal government.
To find a pharmacy or schedule an appointment, those currently eligible can use DHS’ vaccine provider service or call 1-844-684-1064.
