MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than 1 million people in Wisconsin have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as the state reported a slight drop in the number of new cases Monday.
The Department of Health Services reported 1,001,142 people had finished their course of vaccination as of Monday. That is 17.2% of the state population. Another 29.3% have received at least one dose.
Among people 65 and older, 74.8% have received at least one dose and 56.6% have been fully vaccinated.
Overall, 2,720,952 doses have been administered in Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, DHS reported 296 new infections on Monday, or 9.3% of the 3,183 total tests. The seven-day average dipped to 467 from Sunday’s 473.
Three more people died of COVID-19 complications, pushing the seven-day average of four deaths per day in Wisconsin.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 576,044 confirmed cases and 6,601 deaths. DHS considers 562,746 people to have recovered from COVID-19.
