MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than two million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the state of Wisconsin.
That according to numbers reported by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, who also reported that two in five Wisconsinites 65 and older have completed their coronavirus vaccinations, while the seven-day average of new cases in the state rose on Monday.
The number of people who have received at least one dose was 1,258,563; with 709,806 having received their final dose. Nearly 7 in 10 senior citizens — 68.4% — had received at least one dose, while 40% had finished their course.
As for new cases, DHS reported 294 on Monday, pushing the seven-day average to 437, its highest level in 10 days. No new deaths were reported, with the rolling seven-day average holding steady at eight.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 569,932 confirmed cases and 6,536 deaths. DHS lists 557,214 people as having recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus.
