WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former top U.S. economic adviser Gene Sperling will oversee the Biden administration’s implementation of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus plan, the White House said on Monday as President Joe Biden prepared to promote the recovery effort.
Sperling, an economic adviser during Biden’s presidential campaign who served under former Democratic Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, will work with other White House officials and key U.S. agencies, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters at a briefing.
