The Wisconsin DNR announced that the application period for this year’s elk hunt is open until May 31st. The current population of elk in Wisconsin was up to 300 last year and the herd’s expected to keep growing.
The fourth ever Wisconsin elk hunt will be held October 16th – November 14th and then December 9th – 17th of 2021. You must be a Wisconsin resident to apply. If you get accepted, you’re allowed to harvest during either of the hunting periods.
