(WHBL) – Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu of Oostburg is urging the Wisconsin Supreme Court to make a ruling on the issuance of continuing emergency orders by Governor Evers.
Moments after the state legislature overturned the Governor’s previous health emergency on Thursday, Evers immediately issued Executive Order #105 and Emergency Order #1, reinstating a mask mandate to control the spread of COVID-19, an action that LeMahieu labeled a “flagrant disregard for the rule of law,” saying, “The People of Wisconsin can no longer be subjected to confusing, unilateral decrees without basis in statute. We must reinstate the rule of law, uphold separation of powers, and restore confidence in our system of government.” And that, he said, must now be done in the state’s highest court.
