MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than 500,000 people are listed as having recovered from COVID-19 in Wisconsin, as new coronavirus cases continue their decline.
The state Department of Health Services listed recoveries at 500,685 as of Friday. DHS also reported 2,070 new cases, or 24.7% of the 8,382 tests completed. There were 36 new deaths reported.
Seven-day averages of new cases and test positivity declined to 1,702 and 21.7%, respectively. The seven-day average of deaths, however, continued its recent rise, to 46 as of Friday.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 530,171 total cases, nearly 2.5 million negative tests and 5,643 deaths.
Vaccination numbers had not been updated for the day as of early afternoon.
As of Friday morning, there were five people receiving outpatient treatment at the state’s alternate care facility near Milwaukee. No one was staying as an inpatient.
Overall hospitalization numbers were expected to be updated later in the afternoon.
