SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) – A woman was stabbed by a man who broke into a home in Shawano early Monday morning.
Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Robin Lane just before 4 a.m. for a report of a robbery in progress.
When officers arrived, they saw a broken window and there was an active disturbance going on inside the home, with children present.
Police entered the home and a suspect was arrested.
The woman was found suffering from several stab wounds. She was then taken to a hospital. Her condition is not known.
The children were unharmed.
Police are recommending a charge of attempted first degree intentional homicide against the suspect.
