MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — After Saturday saw just over 3,000 new cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin, the DHS is confirming only 1,832 cases Sunday.
Sunday’s positive results account for 24.5% of the 7,462 total results, a downtick from Saturday’s 35% positivity rate.
With the decrease in positive tests Sunday, the seven-day case average is 2,908. The average was previously at 2,996 on Saturday.
The DHS also confirms two new COVID-19 deaths Sunday as the total reaches 5,157.
The seven-day death average decreased slightly from 41 on Saturday to 40 Sunday.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 506,890 positive cases and over 2.4 million negative test results.
The DHS considers 472,862 patients to be recovered from the coronavirus, while 28,735 cases are active.
