COVID-19 usually lasts a week or two, and when a victim hasn’t passed away from their infection after 30 days, the State of Wisconsin says that the person has “recovered”…at least statistically. But many individuals will complain of shortness of breath, cough, fatigue, body aches, join pain, difficulty sleeping, headaches, brain fog, digestive issues and dizziness long after statisticians claim they’re no longer an active case. That’s called “Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome”, and Prevea Health is now offering a COVID Recovery Clinic to address those issues.
Patients first undergo an assessment of their issues by their Prevea primary care provider who then partners with the patient to navigate their recovery, and referrals to specialists will be done if needed. Also, active adults and youth athletes can be assessed for their readiness to return to their formerly active lifestyle.
Prevea offers the clinic locally through St. Nicholas Hospital to patients still experiencing symptoms 14 days or longer after their positive test. Non-Prevea patients in the Lakeshore area should check Prevea.com for more information on treatment from the clinic.
