(WHBL) – The death of a Manitowoc County Jail inmate has been ruled an overdose due to fentanyl by the Manitowoc County Medical Examiner. The investigation into the death was assisted by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office acting as an outside agent since the death occurred while in the Manitowoc County facility.
Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Captain Corey Norlander said detectives had determined that the inmate, 36-year-old Justin Hall of Manitowoc, obtained the narcotics from another inmate in the jail and used the drugs voluntarily. Hall was found unresponsive in his cell the morning of September 15th and pronounced dead when lifesaving efforts failed to revive him.
Detectives are requesting charges related to the delivery of fentanyl resulting in Hall’s death against the other inmate involved, and the case has now been turned over to the Manitowoc County District Attorney’s Office.
