(WHBL) – Over three weeks had passed since the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hunter in distress on the Manitowoc River with no sign of his whereabouts. But after a private search and rescue organization called “Wings of Hope Wisconsin” took up the search on Monday, the body of Joshua Lueptow was recovered from around 5-6 feet of water.
The discovery was made using sonar and an underwater drone, and a Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team recovered the body on Monday afternoon. Officials called the death a “tragic accident” and no foul play is suspected.
