(WHBL) – When the COVID pandemic forces area parents to find a safe place for their school-age children during work hours, Above and Beyond Children’s Museum in Sheboygan and the Boys and Girls Club in Sheboygan Falls have answered the call. On Wednesday, those two were told that they’re among 42 state organizations getting help through the $6.6 million COVID-19 Out-of-School Support Grant. Governor Evers announced the grants on Wednesday, recognizing the organizations for stepping up in a big way to make sure kids have the support they need.
In Sheboygan County, the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum received $34,000, and the Boys and Girls Club of Sheboygan County was granted $216,800.
Funded by the federal CARES act, the awards will help cover such costs as lost revenue, increased staffing, cleaning and sanitization, and other needs impacted by the pandemic.
