MADISON, WI (METRO) – A new study says it is not the number of coronavirus cases that drives the decision about in-person classes in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty yesterday said politics and the strength of the local teachers’ union drive the decision.
WILL looked at 400 schools in the state, and found that schools in areas that voted for Hillary Clinton are more likely to move classes online.
The group says schools with strong teachers’ unions and a higher percentage of low income students are also more likely to cancel in-person classes because of the coronavirus.
