Since Halloween has passed and weâve put away those costumes, that also means that people have pumpkins that need to go as well. Instead of just throwing them away, you can always bake some pumpkin seeds! Honestly, if I can do it, you can do it. Hereâs a step-by-step recipe for making some great pumpkin seeds from digging inside those old pumpkins youâre ready to get rid of anyways.
INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Grab those old pumpkins off your porch or go pick a new one! Most of the pumpkin patches have closed for the season, but that doesnât mean you wonât be able to find some at a local farm or roadside wagon.

STEP 2: Carefully cut out the top. Please donât cut yourself!

STEP 3: Start digging! Itâs easiest to just scrape out all of the insides and put them in a bowl.

STEP 4: From everything youâve dug out of the pumpkin, separate the seeds from the âgutsâ in a different bowl.

STEP 5: Once the seeds are separated and placed in a bowl, add some warm water to the bowl and wait ten min. After the ten minutes, move the seeds around in the water to get any excess pumpkin insides off of the seeds

STEP 6: Place pumpkin seeds in a pot over the stove with one tablespoon of salt for every cup of seeds and wait until it boils. (2 cups water/1 cup seeds)
**Add more salt to water if you prefer seeds to be saltier**
STEP 7: Drain the water from the pot and place pumpkin seeds on a nonstick cookie sheet. (helps to spray the pan prior to placing seeds)
STEP 8: Preheat oven to 400 degrees
STEP 9: Sprinkle seeds with your favorite seasoning. I normally put salt and garlic powder on them, but you can do anything! Sugar and cinnamon is also a great option.
STEP 10: Place seeds in your preheated oven for 10 â 15 minutes or until the majority of seeds have a light golden-brown top.

STEP 11: The last step is to let the seeds cool and enjoy!
Thatâs one easy way to bake a great batch of pumpkin seeds!
