SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – 185 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Tuesday’s daily update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. Ten of those were inmates of Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, the first new cases there in a week. KMCI now has logged 868 cases of the coronavirus. With 63 persons in the county recovering since Monday, the active case count rose to 1,969, and of those, 33 are hospitalized, down 4 from Monday. 601 test results were returned in all, resulting in a positive rate today of around 31%. 5,546 county residents so far have come down with COVID-19.
Wisconsin added 5,771 positive test returns, just over 27% of all results, to put the total confirmed case number at 238,067. 52 deaths were recorded in the last 24-hours, raising the death toll to 2,102. 247 more persons were hospitalized for the disease in the last 24-hours, with 1,714 now hospitalized for COVID-19. 347 of those are in the ICU. Another 271 persons are hospitalized and awaiting confirmation from their tests, and 530 persons are on ventilators. Seven patients are currently being treated at the Alternate Care Facility at State Fair Park in West Allis.
