MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – The search for a missing Manitowoc hunter was suspended on Saturday after three days of searching by more than 20 county and state agencies failed to turn up his whereabouts.
29-year-old Joshua A. Lueptow of Manitowoc was reported missing in the Collins Marsh area around 3:20 Thursday afternoon. Initial reports said Lueptow was duck hunting near the Manitowoc River and may have been in distress. Law enforcement, fire and rescue crews searched in and around the Manitowoc River from Collins to Clarks Mills with drones, fixed-wing aircraft, divers, sonar, K9 and surface vehicles, all without success.
At this point, hunters and visitors to the Manitowoc River are asked to be extra observant and to notify the Manitowoc Sheriff’s Office if anything out of the ordinary is seen. Foul play is not suspected, and Lueptow’s family has requested privacy at this time.
