JANESVILLE, WI (WSAU) – On a cold, windy Saturday, thousands attended Donald Trump’s latest campaign rally in Wisconsin.
The President spoke at Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Janesville before attending a private fundraiser.
Dozens of doctors signed an open letter calling for Trump to cancel the event because of COVID-19 concerns. Rock County, where the rally took place, has 138 active cases.
Masks were mandatory for the event, but many people in the crowd removed them once they were past a screening checkpoint.
Trump told the crowd, “I wish you had a Republican governor. You’ve got to open your state up.”
Trump also spoke against defunding police, “We will strongly defend our police. I will always stand with the heroes of law enforcement.”
Trump predicted he will win Wisconsin on Election Day, and said “then we will win the whole ballgame.”
