U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue announced that the USDA decided to extend their free meal program until a little bit after the end of the 2020-2021 school year. The program already got extended once before and was scheduled to stop at the end of 2020. Now with this new extension, it gives schools and other designated places the chance to keep using the Summer Food Service Program and the Seamless Summer Option in order to give free meals to kids in need. The meals are available through June 30, 2021.
