(WHBL) – Lakeland University has promoted Executive Vice President Beth Borgen to be that institution’s 18th president. Borgen was selected by Lakeland’s Board of Trustees Thursday following a national search, and becomes the first female to lead the institution in its 158-year history.
Borgen, herself a Lakeland graduate, earned her master of business administration from Lakeland in 2011, and has since led dramatic growth in Lakeland’s fundraising efforts, as well as implementation of the university’s award-winning Cooperative Education program. She will begin her tenure as president in spring of next year.
