Within the past two weeks, thousands of mink have died on Utah mink ranches which pushed certain farms to quarantine. Kaiser Health News reported that the virus passed from employees to the animals. The good news is that there’s no signs of the animals passing the virus to humans.
All together about 7,000 – 8,000 mink have died since COVID-19 spread to ranches in Utah. Even if the animal died from the virus, farmers can still sell the mink’s fur. They just have to be processed in order to get rid of COVID-19 beforehand.
