MADISON, WI (WRN) — Federal prosecutors are closing the case on an alleged racially-motivated attack in Madison.
After conducting interviews, and looking at traffic camera video, the U-S Attorney’s office says there’s not enough evidence to prove a young biracial woman was set on fire during a protest in Wisconsin this summer.
Eighteen-year-old Althea Bernstein maintains four white men walked up to her car at a red light on June 24th in Madison, sprayed her with lighter fluid, and tossed a flaming lighter at her, setting her neck and face on fire.
Bernstein’s family says she is healing.
