MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services have issued a new emergency order loosening restrictions on out-of-state health care providers to practice in Wisconsin.
Evers announced the order during a Thursday media briefing. It will allow out-of-state, licensed providers to work in Wisconsin health facilities and extends licenses that would otherwise expire during the federal emergency declaration. It also allows those with recently lapsed licenses to quickly get reinstated.
The move comes as national attention is focused on Wisconsin, which is seeing one of the largest per-capita spikes in COVID-19 infection in the United States.
