APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — A Lawrence University professor says very little was learned during Tuesday night’s presidential debate between President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden.
The debate was a testy contest, with plenty of cross-talk and interruptions by both candidates.
“One man with no ideas, and one man with no manners, and I think that could apply to both of them,” said Professor Arnold Shabor Wednesday morning on WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’.
Undecided voters, Shabor says, probably haven’t been convinced just yet.
“If I were an undecided voter, I might enjoy the spectacle of this,” said Shabor. “But I think for the both of them, it just raises questions about what kind of governing style they have.”
Tuesday night’s debate was moderated by Fox’s Chris Wallace, who at one point yelled at both candidates.
“We struggled all the way through,” said Shabor. “It was a spectacle.”
The 90 minute debate was the first of three planned between the candidates.
