Scott Thompson’s a fourth-generation farmer and the owner of Thompson Strawberry Farm located in Bristol, WI. Once COVID-19 hit, he decided to plant two million sunflowers in his fields because he knew it would help bring happiness to the people who’d stop to see the flowers in full bloom.
Thompson even made sure to plant fields with shorter sunflowers because they’re a better size to take pictures with. He just wants people from all over to be able to come out to the farm and have a good day. Who knows, the flowers might even help people forget about everything going on in the world right now for a minute. He wants the visitors to genuinely be happy.
The season should last at least until the end of September.
