MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – New positive cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 2,000 for the third straight day after the DHS reports 2,283 new cases on Saturday.
The total positive tests completed Saturday was less than Friday which saw 2,533 newly reported cases, the highest total recorded in a single day.
While positive tests declined from Friday, the average from the last seven days increased from 1,575 to 1,708 on Saturday.
The percentage of positive tests on Saturday is 18.4%, a slight downtick from Friday, however the average from the last seven days has increased to 16.4%.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Wisconsin has had 1,425,009 people tested, 99,562 positive cases, and 1,325,447 negative cases.
The DHS considers 84,632 patients to have recovered from the new coronavirus, and there are 13,671 active cases.
Wisconsin hospitals are reporting to the DHS a total of 342 COVID-19 patients receiving hospital care, with 98 of those patients in the ICU.
2,344 hospital beds are immediately available for patients out of the 11,416 total beds.
The state has a supply of 2,303 ventilators with 359 in use.
