MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– After two straight days of decreases in new COVID-19 cases, the DHS is reporting a record 1,582 new COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin on Sunday.
The 1,582 new cases is 35 more than Thursday’s previous record of 1,547 newly reported cases.
Just 7,735 total test results were completed by the DHS on Sunday as the percentage of positive results spiked up to 20.5%, a sharp increase from Saturday’s 11.6%.
The average cases confirmed over the last seven days has increased to 1,141, which is 98 more than Saturday.
Since the start of the pandemic, the state has had 1,359,643 people tested, 89,185 positive cases, and 1,270,458 negative test results.
The DHS considers 77,750 patients to have recovered from COVID-19, 841 more than reported on Sunday.
There are currently 10,207 active cases of COVID-19 in the state.
Wisconsin hospitals are reporting that 2,262 hospital beds are immediately available of the 11,393 total.
There is 319 total COVID-19 patients receiving hospital care with 94 of those in the ICU.
The state has a total supply 2,296 ventilators with 349 in use.
