WASHINGTON (Reuters) – White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on Tuesday said he was hopeful there would be another round of federal COVID-19 stimulus funding ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election, but signaled no new breakthrough in talks with congressional Democrats.
Meadows, in an interview on Fox Business Network, said the bill being put forward by Senate Republicans would hopefully provide a basis for a future agreement with Democratic lawmakers and that negotiations were ongoing.
