MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Coronavirus infections are now broken down by age on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ online dashboard.
DHS added two new charts on Friday. They show weekly and cumulative cases among seven age groups.
The charts show that the 18-24 and 25-34 age groups have seen the most coronavirus infections.
Separate charts, which are broken out in different age groups, show that 2% of confirmed cases in people 20-29 and 4% in people 30-39 have required hospitalization.
“This dashboard provides information younger Wisconsinites, and everyone in our state, can use to help box in this virus,” DHS secretary-designee Andrea Palm said in a news release. “We are counting on everyone to understand COVID-19 is still spreading in our state, and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. We encourage everyone, regardless of age but particularly for those younger Wisconsinites, to be safe should they choose to spend time with people outside of their homes.”
By the end of the week of Aug. 30, there had been 14,390 confirmed coronavirus cases in people 18-24 and 14,620 in people 25-34.
