MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Wisconsin residents still receiving unemployment benefits could be eligible for an extra $300 per week under the executive order signed by President Trump in August.
The Department of Workforce Development says FEMA has approved the state’s application to take part in the Lost Wage Assistance Program, but officials say don’t hold your breath while waiting for the money to hit your account.
The DWD still needs another four to five weeks to set up the program and another two weeks to test the distribution setup. Meaning eligible residents may have to wait until mid-October to see the money in their account.
Anyone making at least $100 in unemployment would be eligible to receive the extra cash.
