Just a reminder that the inland hook and line season for lake sturgeon’s kicking off tomorrow, September 5th. The season ends on Septmeber 30th, but before you head out to the lake, make sure you have a valid tag for the season. You can get your tags on the DNR’s GoWild website or in person where they sell tags.
If you want to harvest a sturgeon you need to validate your tag right away and register the fish at a designated registration site before 6 PM on the day the sturgeon’s harvested. The DNR wanted to remind anyone fishing at Yellow Lake in Burnett County to keep an eye out for dangler tags. These are yellow tags with a five digit number on them that were put on the dorsal fin of some sturgeon in that lake. They’re asking that you keep the tag on the fish and report the tag number to the DNR.
Good luck this season!
