SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Anyone entering Sheboygan from the western gateway on Highway 23 can’t help but notice the Sheboygan County Veterans Memorial just east of the Taylor reservoir. The project was initiated in June of 1988 and was dedicated 26 years ago this month, honoring the service and sacrifices of the county’s veterans whose names are engraved on the monument.
Besides honoring those who lost their lives in service to the country, names of others who have served and come home have been added each October since 2015, and the deadline to submit names for this year is September 15th.
A majority of requests for engraving have usually been received annually at the Sheboygan County Fair but, with that event cancelled, submissions are now being accepted online. Those wishing to fill out an application can do that at scvmemorial.org
