SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – With the weekend now past, three days worth of COVID-19 test results were posted in Monday’s report from the Sheboygan County Division of Pubic Health. Three new cases of the illness were confirmed on Saturday, 8 on Sunday and another 17 positive test results were confirmed Monday for a total of 28 coronavirus victims added to the running total, which now stands at 962. Sixteen persons recovered, leaving a net gain of 12 active cases. 96 persons are now battling COVID-19, 9 of those in a hospital setting. 561 negative test results were received, yielding a positive test percentage of 4.75%.
By age group the largest share of cases experienced in the county so far belongs to those in their 20s with 224 cases. 141 belong to those in their 30s, 139 in their 50s, 127 in their 40s, 126 were in their teens, 46 were in their 70s, 35 were 80 and older and 23 were under age 10.
The Sate DHS reported 392 more positive test results received since Sunday, raising the state total cases to 70,854. With 4,473 negatives, the positive percentage of test returns is 8.1%. The 7-day running average positive rate is 8%. No persons died since Sunday, leaving the death toll at 1,081. 15 more persons were hospitalized and of the 321 patients, 106 are in the ICU and 370 are on ventilators whether in a hospital or other care facility.
