SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan Water Utility is dealing with a half-million dollar drop in revenue so far this year, according to the financial report submitted last week to the Board of Water Commissioners.
Details showed that residential revenue for July was comparable to last year. However, overall revenues through the first 7 months of 2020 are down by $500,000 – mostly the result of the impacts of the pandemic on business and industry.
One direct effect of that reduced cash flow is the decision to cut in half the number of fire hydrants to be stripped and painted this year, from 400 down to 200.
With no additional revenue drop expected along with the delay of capital projects, Superintendent Joe Trueblood expressed confidence that year-end cash balance estimates should remain strong.
