KOHLER, Wis. (WHBL) – A man was seriously injured after a high speed chase through Kohler and Sheboygan Falls Sunday afternoon. Kohler Police Chief Shawn Splivalo says an officer attempted a traffic stop around 10am on County Road A, south of PP in the Village of Kohler. The vehicle ignored the lights and sirens, speeding up to 80 mph throughout the chase which went through Kohler, Sheboygan Falls, and back into Kohler. During the chase, the driver ignored traffic signals, drove through private property causing damage, and finally lost control. The chase ended with a rollover crash as the vehicle was eastbound on Greenfield Drive at Highland Drive. Emergency crews transported the man to St. Nicholas Hospital.
He was charged with felony eluding an officer, several traffic violations in both Falls and Kohler, OWI, open intoxicants, operating without a license, reckless operation of a vehicle, criminal damage to property, speeding, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
Kohler Police were assisted by Sheboygan Falls Police, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, Kohler Fire, City of Falls Fire, and Orange Cross Ambulance.
