MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WHBL) – Jorge Polanco’s slow infield roller plated the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning as the Twins outlasted the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in Minnesota on Tuesday night. Twins starter Kenta Maeda took a no-hitter into the ninth inning only to see Milwaukee score three times to tie it and force extras.
Eric Sogard’s soft liner broke up the bid leading off the ninth. Avisail Garcia and Christian Yelich both scored on errors in the ninth to tie it up. But David Phelps gave up the unearned run in the 12th as the Brewers saw its three-game winning streak snapped.
Milwaukee fell to 10-11 and will do battle with the Twins again Wednesday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:35.
