SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – 22 positive tests for COVID-19 were recorded by the Sheboygan County Division of Health Services in the 24-hours ending at 2PM Friday, raising the county total since the pandemic began to 848. However, with 26 persons recovering in the same period, the active case load is now 99, the first time below 100 since 91 were active on July 13th. Three of those 99 are now hospitalized for their symptoms. With 364 test returns received, the positive rate in the county is 6%.
Sheboygan County will remain in phase-2 of its Safe Restart Plan, as the only benchmark criteria given an “excellent” rating was the ability to provide hospital care without resorting to crisis standards. Downward trajectory of cases, the Activity Level as a percentage of all Wisconsin cases, and the performance of Contact Tracing are all rated “of concern”. Phase-2 has been in place since June 5th.
Wisconsin’s positive test rate hit its 3rd consecutive day of increase, upped to 9.8% of the 10,439 results received. A low point of 6.3% was logged on Wednesday. The 1,021 persons testing positive raised the total cases in Wisconsin to 64,277. 7 more persons have died since yesterday, yielding a toll of 1,025. 65 more persons entered hospitals for treatment of COVID-19, and of the 354 current patients 109 are in the ICU, and 347 are on ventilators.
