SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – For the past few weeks the daily figures posted by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health displayed both good days – when recoveries outpaced new cases – and bad days when tens of cases were confirmed in a single day. The past 24-hours have been “good”, with 8 new cases of COVID-19 compared to 26 persons recovering from the illness. The new cases raise the county total to 723. Of the 153 persons currently battling a coronavirus infection, one is receiving hospital care.
Within the state of Wisconsin, total tests conducted so far have topped one million (1,001,924), with 56,940 returning positive for COVID-19. 884 were added yesterday, inching the positive return rate upwards for the first time since Sunday to 5.2%. Nine more persons have died since Tuesday, raising the state death toll to 970. 258 state residents are now hospitalized, 96 of those in the ICU, and the number on ventilators stands at 338.
