SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan County’s Division of Public Health added another 24 positive test returns for COVID-19 in the last 24-hours, raising the total confirmed cases above 700 (715). The new cases were outnumbered by the 31 recoveries, taking the active case load down to 171. Three of those are receiving care in a hospital for their symptoms.
A new set of age categories was incorporated into the Sheboygan County “Dashboard” that’s used to display case counts today. Under the old system, categories were 0-19 years, 20-39, 40-59, 60-79 and 80+. The new system assigns 0-9, where 18 cases have been recorded; 10-19 comprising 103 cases; 20-29 where 169 positive tests were returned; 30-39 – 101 cases; 40-49 at 107 cases; 50-59 having 97 cases; 60-69 year olds have experienced 68 cases of COVID-19; 70-79 with 30 cases, and 80+ at 22 cases.
Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services recorded a continuing drop in the positive percentage rate of overall test returns in the last 24-hours at 4%…compared to the recent peak of 9.6% Sunday. The actual number of daily new cases was up over 55% from yesterday, adding another 728 cases for a new total of 56,056 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far. 51 persons entered the hospital since yesterday, and now the percent of COVID-19 cases needing that treatment rose to 8.5%. 12 more persons died in the last 24 hours, raising the state death toll to 961 persons. Of the 294 persons now receiving hospital care, 111 are in the ICU, and 341 persons in all are on ventilators.
