PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan County’s second-largest school district – Plymouth – is going through its own set of plans on how to safely operate during the pandemic, and a three-phase approach is emerging. Which phase is employed depends upon levels of restrictions due to the coronavirus.
Under the least restrictions, a “Station Rotation” plan would have all students attend every day with an E-learning option for those not in school. At Plymouth High, staffing and space concerns could limit the number of electives and at all other grade levels modifications would be made based on staffing and space limitations.
With more restrictions a “Blended Learning” plan would combine in-person and e-learning approaches. Plymouth High would operate an “A-B” rotation with half the student body in school on alternate days, and in lower levels students would be divided into smaller, physically-distanced groups.
In the worst case all students would attend online, following a set schedule called “synchronous learning”, meaning that wherever they are, students follow the same schedule with more real-time instruction and more face-to-face interaction than was employed to close the last school year.
